To be fair, I didn’t know much about world renowned automotive photographer Larry Chen before my editor, Karl Noakes, asked me to jump in on this piece. Karl, himself an outstanding photographer, had crossed paths with Larry while shooting a race event. Soon after, the bones of a profile piece, featuring Larry’s stunning images, landed in my inbox. Karl’s early interviews with Larry, along with his penchant for spinning a good yarn, were the kickstarters to what we hoped would be a true homage to one of the most vibrant, compelling creatives around.
